Summer Knitting Series: Knitted Guitar Strap!

If you're like me you love to have a project going on your needles. In these hot days of summer though it takes some effort to get excited about knitting since so many knitting projects are winter fare. Knitting a sweater, pool side, somehow just doesn't have the charm you want to feel from this ancient, sacred art.

So, here at Wise and Glorious Purpose we will be regularly updating items for your summer knitting projects in our Summer Knitting Series! So get out those needles, warm up those wrists and drive into some summer knitting fun!

Today's knitting project is:  A Knitted Guitar Strap

This one is a great Father's day gift for those Rock n' Roll papas out there. It's quick, it's easy, it's usable, it looks AWESOME - it has everything you want!

Materials:

One skein of yarn (I used a cotton blend, shelf striping but really you can use anything you just don't want to go too big or too small)

Large sewing needle
Size 9 US needles

Some cloth for the back, otherwise it will stretch when worn. I used gray felt but really anything sturdy will do.

Embroidery thread of a matching color
