"The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest."
Psalm 85:12 (NIV) "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
Genesis 8:22
"Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."
John 4:35
We are so fortunate to live in a community with local pumpkin growers. Today we squished through the deep, deep mud (thanks to some early winter storms) and picked our carving pumpkins and our eating pumpkins for the year.
The experience of picking your own food from the vine cannot be beat.
Today I'm thinking about the people rising up. Nothing beats the power of the people because the power of the people doesn't stop :) And while we are talking about changing the system I agree with this reporter, breast cancer awareness month (which is October) needs a serious over haul if we are actually going to beat this disease. Why aren't we as a nation talking about the real risk factors?
We live in a multi generational household, the idea is catching on and if you ask me it's one of the biggest benefits of this economic downturn.
And I have to say I was shocked at the global internet outpouring over the death of Steve Jobs. I had no idea how loved he was by so many people. My heart goes out to his family and friends and all those who were inspired and helped by his products. I for one, recently found out that Steve openly opposed pornography and wouldn't allow it in Apple apps. Way to go Steve! You certainly made your mark.
